Dakota Ramblers—submitted by Rex & Joyce Baker. This club lost two couples for the coming camping year, both due to illness. The club still has five campouts per year from May through September on every third weekend of the month.

We did have a camp in dance at the Chieftain in Carrington in January 2008. But with lack of members in attendance this dance may be deleted from our club. The club holds at 32 members and their campout dances for 2008 are:

May 15-16-17 Wesley Acres, Dazey, ND

June 19-20-21-22 30th Anniversary Dance at Hillcrest RV Park in Bismarck, ND

Dancing at the Senior Citizens Center in Bismarck

July 17-18-19 Hoffer Lake, McClusky, ND

August 14-15-16 Viking View Resort, Ft. Ransom, ND

September 18-19-20 Swenson Valley View RV Park, Minot, ND

Jamestown Square Steppers— submitted by John & Irene Walch. This club is still holding together with 16 members and one to two squares per dance. They did have a class this winter and gained one dancer but no new members yet. They still dance on the 1st Friday and 3rd Sunday at 2PM – of each month September through May with the exception of no dances in January. Their dances are held at the Senior Citizen Center #1 in Jamestown, ND.

Circle 8 Plus Club – submitted by Allan & Carol Currie. This club of Fargo/Moorhead dances on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month from September through May at the Glyndon Community Center. They sponsored a beginner plus class this winter and graduated six new plus dancers. They are all enjoying their plus dancing experience and one of them has joined the club. They now have 15 members.

They are very excited about holding a special dance on September 6th at 7:30PM in honor of the clubs 50th Anniversary and kick off the fall dance season. They invite all dancers to come and dance and all callers to come and bring their records. This dance will be both mainstream and plus levels. With so many clubs folding, it is very exciting to celebrate a milestone like this. We are hoping to see many former members and inactive dancers at the event.

Saturday Fun Nite –Fargo – submitted by Evelyn Clemens. We have 26 paid members for the 2007-2008 year. The teenagers have not attended a dance for over a year. The New Years Eve dance was held at Glyndon, MN Community Center, hosted by three clubs, Saturday Fun Nite, Circle 8 Plus and Prairie Promenaders. Jim Jirak called to three to four squares of dancers. They had pot luck supper at 7:30PM followed by dancing until midnight when Old Father Time came out and the New Years baby came in.

Roger McNeil and Jim Lizakowski had a class of beginners starting in September with about 12 singles and one couple, graduating six singles at the Saturday Fun Nite dance on January 26, 2008. All six are still dancing.

Some of our members have danced at nursing homes the past winter months. They average 2-5 squares at out dances. They dance the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 7:30 to 10PM at the F-M Labor Temple Hall, 3002 1st Ave N, Fargo. They only had to cancel one dance because of weather on February 9th due to a stormy day with bitter cold wind of 30 below. Dennis Van Asch cancelled so we called a few members and we all thought it was a good night to be indoors where it was warm. Saturday Fun Nite did not have any dances in March this year because of the Golden Plus weekend in Moorhead and Easter weekend fell on our dance night.
